Biography
Yana Davydova is a NYC based session guitar player (both electric and classical) and a songwriter writing her music under the moniker of Echo Moth.
As an electric guitarist she is known for her ethereal rich textures and creative guitar work influenced by modern classical guitar repertoire as well as ambient/noise styles and free improvisation. She regularly performs, records and tours with a variety of art rock bands, jazz bands and electronic music projects (such as Elysian Fields, Ayumi Ishito Band, Woodhead, N/Y AV Institute, etc) as well as her main project, Echo Moth, for which she writes music and lyrics.
Besides session guitar work, she frequently performs as an improviser creating looped guitar soundscapes and textures either as a solo act or in collaboration with other musicians or theater companies. Yana was born in Protvino, Russia and immigrated to the US at the turn of the millennium. She is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, NYC in classical guitar performance where she studied with David Starobin and Mark Delpriora.
